AIM
I want start writing the article in the dps so it is complete
REFLECTION
I have finished writing my article in my dps. i now just need to make sure it makes sense and check that all the images and fonts work fine

AIM
i want to start my DPS and get as far as possible on it, including the images and fonts, etc
REFLECTION
I am very happy about the progress on my dps as i have selected what background i want on it and was able to sort out my fonts and start writing

By this point, i my skills at photoshop has been good enough that my work is now relativity easy. I had no issue in placing images or disappearing text. For once it was all straight forward.

I found many technical difficulties in using photoshop this time. The biggest issue was text not appearing. Thankfully i discovered that it was issue with the fonts so i simply got new ones. After that, i managed to make the contents page with relativity no trouble as i now have basic photoshop skills.

Contents Page Feedback

Many liked my contents page and was an improvement over my front cover. they liked my dominant image and color scheme. However, they thought my dominant image was stretched out. My next improvement is to fix the image

The feedback to my front cover was mediocre. While everyone liked the dominant image, they criticized my lack of content. That is my goal of improvement, to add more content.

I aim to have fixed the issue with my text in photoshop and continue with the contents page

I finally finished fixing my text and was able to add the actual contents. I also edited my front cover to make improvements

Reflection
There seems to be an error on my contents page, in which i cannot type text, so i spent most of my time editing my dominant image. I hope to fix the error next lesson.

Overall, I have learned what makes a magazine and what I should and should not include in my front cover, my contents page and my dps, This will help me make my magazine more popular and thus more people will buy it
I know how to structure it so everything is not randomly placed. I know where to include a dominant image and a strapline and also a masthead. I know what fonts should be used to make things stand out and so the overall presentation is better

From doing this audience profile and researching potential target audience, i have learned about what audiences expect from rap magazines. i have also learned about what i should include in terms of content and what genres people like.

Today, my aim is to learn how to use photoshop so i can use it better for my main course

I have been able to finish my photoshop front cover and i have learned how to use basic photoshop. I need to continue how to use photoshop.

I found making this magazine front cover difficult on photoshop but i am proud of my work. I like the fonts i have used for my masthead and sell lines. What i think i could do better is to choose a more colourful image so i can apply more background colors

What i have learned

I have learned quite a lot from making the dps and the front cover trial run pages. I have learned that almost all details matter, from the background to how they are posing to how the lighting is positioned.  The pictures on the stars that the front cover, contents page and dps' have there pictures show their personality and what the dps is going to focus on.

Reflection

On the first slide the background could have had more detail but i think the dominant image is good enough. The pull quote placement is to out of the way but i feel i chose a good enough quote. Now that i look at it, the paragraphs look disconnected and loose, which could have been joined if they were about the same subject, i didnt want it to look like one big wall of text but that may be the path i need to go. I also seem to be missing minor details like page numbers.

I have a lot to do on this day. For starters, i needed to figure out how to combat the competiton in terms of price and what artists are featured and even freebies. I also had to think of Generic conventions, including what you would normally find on a front cover, contents page and dps (Double page spread) I did manage to finish the competition part of the lesson. The rest is most likley going to be done as Homework

Briefs

Briefs 
When centres choose briefs to offer to candidates, they should be guided by their strengths in terms of resources and expertise. Centres should also bear in mind the key areas: forms and conventions, production contexts, the role of technologies, audiences/users and representations. 
The set briefs are as follows: 
Print 
Preliminary exercise: using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally candidates must produce a DTP mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the program. 
Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine (if done as a group task, each member of the group to produce an individual edition of the magazine, following the same house style). Maximum four members to a group.
